Unfortunately, Tiny Life will not be available in stores until late 2008. However, you are able to see the product before it's finished. How is this possible?
Well, if you know anything about the comic industry, you'll know that in order for my comic to get into your hands, it has to go through several filters. First I have to create it, then, once it's created, I sell it to a distributor for about 65% off the cover price (that's right. I actually receive less than half of the cover price). The distributor then asks the retailers how many copies they want. Once the retailers tell the distributors this, the distributors tell me. I then ship my original product to a reputable printer to print off that many copies (plus a few more for myself, friends, and for back issues). The printer, in turn, prints the correct number of copies and ships them to the retailers who then sell them to you for full cover price (unless you have a nice comic shop owner who gives percentages off for loyal customers). Because I own the company, I can bypass a lot of that nonsense. Because I own the company, I also pay the price.
The fans make my job possible, so I am doing this for you. I am making my drafts available to the public. You can buy early versions of the comics (complete with mistakes) through this website. However, because I am printing them on a per-copy basis—as opposed to the thousands that are printed when the comic is published for the retailers—it is much more expensive to do.
If you're one of those people who just can't wait to see the next issue, if you're a hard-core collector, or if you just want to take a stand against the publishing machine, I am publishing everything I do up to one year in advance through this website. The following are currently available:
