Issue 112-113

This is an obvious homage to Cerebus 112/113. I think this was the first Cerebus comic I read and it still impacts me today as one of the best comics ever.

If you've never read it, Cerebus, the main character, just returned from talking to what seemed to be the closest thing one ever gets to talking with God. He was told that he will “Die alone, unmourned and unloved.” He basically walks around his ruined kingdom for 40 pages thinking about what's gone on over the last few months. There is almost no talking, but it is enthralling.

I didn't know any of that going in though. I just thought it looked cool. Later, I would see the similarities between Cerebus falling from grace and Jed falling from grace in remarkably similar ways.
